In 2022, I rebuilt the communications division at the Houston Arts Alliance which had been inactive for approximately six years. Through an overhaul of the systems, I was able to grow newsletter readership from 35% to 54%, making the newsletter one of the main points of contact with the communities we serve. From May 2022 to the present, my communications team was able to grow the Houston Arts Alliance’s online presence by leveraging connections, a small ad budget for Meta and LinkedIn, and implementing a new content strategy. The audience grew from 41.7 thousand people to 53.5 thousand across Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

I have successfully led the rebranding of the organization to capitalize on its achievements, building community trust and to communicating services clearly. I designed and implemented a communications strategy that ensures alignment with the organization’s mission and goals. The result has been a near tripling of applications to the City of Houston’s grants for artists, a more cohesive and successful fundraising strategy, an improved understanding of the public art work the organization does for the city, and increased visibility for the disaster services the organization offers for artists and cultural workers. I also lead outreach events such as the annual Open House and the quarterly Arts Community Meeting.
